Description
The Walker’s Razor Slim Passive Muff in Flat Dark Earth is a straightforward, no-battery hearing protection solution built for range use, hunting, and any situation where you want reliable noise reduction without electronics to maintain or charge. Passive muffs block sound mechanically rather than electronically, which means there are no amplifiers to adjust, no dead batteries at an inconvenient moment, and no latency between a shot and the protection engaging — the attenuation is always on.
The ear cups are built on a sound-dampening composite housing with a rubberized outer coating, which adds grip and some resistance to abrasion without adding meaningful weight. The cups themselves are kept intentionally slim and low-profile, a design choice that matters most when you’re mounting a rifle. A thick ear cup creates a gap between the hearing protector and the stock comb, which affects cheek weld consistency shot to shot. The slimmer the cup, the less it interferes with a proper stock mount.
The headband uses a metal wire frame rather than a solid plastic arch, which allows the muff to fold down into a compact shape for storage in a range bag or pack. The wire frame also distributes clamping force more evenly across the crown of the head during extended wear. Soft PVC ear pads sit against the skin and provide the seal necessary for the muff to do its job. The Flat Dark Earth finish is Walker’s own colorway and pairs cleanly with most earth-tone range gear.
For shooters who prefer a reliable mechanical solution over an electronic one, the Razor Slim Passive is a durable, packable option worth keeping in a bag as a primary or backup set.
