Description
The Proof Research Elevation 2.0 is a bolt-action precision rifle built for left-handed shooters who want a factory package capable of reaching long distances without compromises in component quality. The left-hand action is the starting point here, not an afterthought retrofit — the bolt handle, ejection port, and safety are all oriented for a southpaw’s natural workflow, which matters when a right-handed chassis gets adapted and the result is awkward manipulations under any time pressure.
Proof Research wraps the barrel in their carbon fiber composite process, which removes a meaningful amount of weight compared to a full steel contour without sacrificing the rigidity that consistent accuracy requires. That weight reduction is felt most over a long day of field shooting or when the rifle is carried at elevation rather than shot from a bench. The 1-in-8 twist rate is well suited to the heavier, high-BC projectiles that make 7mm PRC worth shooting at distance — bullets in the 160–175 grain range stabilize reliably at that rate, which is where the cartridge does its best work past 800 yards. The barrel is threaded, so it accepts a suppressor or muzzle device without additional gunsmithing. The Flat Dark Earth finish, rendered here in Proof Research’s TFDE designation, is a subdued earth tone that reduces visual signature in field conditions. The 22-inch barrel length balances velocity extraction from the 7mm PRC case against a package that remains manageable in tight quarters or out of a vehicle.
