Description

Mec-Gar has supplied magazines to firearms manufacturers and military forces since 1965, and this Glock 17 extended magazine is made in Italy to the same production standards as those OEM contracts. If you run a Glock 17 for competition, range work, or duty and want more rounds on hand without swapping to an unfamiliar platform, this magazine adds capacity over the standard 17-round configuration without requiring any modification to your pistol or magazine catch.

The tube is heat-treated carbon steel, which maintains its geometry under the lateral stress of a fully loaded stack. The spring is high-tensile music wire, chosen for consistent feed force across the full round count rather than only near the top of the stack. The follower is a high-visibility green, high-impact polymer — useful for confirming an empty chamber at a glance during administrative handling or a press check. The Anti-Friction coating on the tube exterior helps the magazine seat and drop free cleanly through repeated use. The floorplate is black polymer and extends slightly to give a positive grip for a tactical reload; note that standard Glock aftermarket replacement floorplates are not compatible with this magazine’s design, so keep that in mind if you use extended base pads from other sources. Mec-Gar also confirms this magazine is not compatible with the Stealth Arms Platypus.

Because this magazine functions with the existing Glock 17 magazine catch, there is no need to modify or replace that component — a detail that matters when you are running a pistol set up for carry or duty and do not want to alter its geometry.
