Description

This barrel is built for the shooter who wants a capable .308 / 7.62 NATO precision or general-purpose rifle without committing to a full-length 20-inch tube. The 18-inch length sits in a practical middle ground: it recovers most of the velocity that shorter configurations trade away, while keeping the overall package manageable in field or range use.

Machined from 416R stainless steel and finished in a bead blasted surface, the barrel is built to resist corrosion in conditions where a carbon-steel barrel would need more attention. The bead blasted finish also reduces glare, a practical consideration in daylight precision work.

The rifle-length gas system draws propellant gas from farther down the bore, which spreads the pressure impulse over a longer cycle. Compared to a mid-length or carbine gas system on the same barrel, this translates to a slower, smoother bolt carrier movement and generally softer perceived recoil — a meaningful advantage when running a .308 for extended strings of fire or follow-up shots.

The 1:10 twist rate stabilizes the broad middle range of .308 projectiles reliably, from lighter varmint loads through standard 168-grain match bullets. Shooters loading heavier long-range projectiles in the 175–185 grain range will find this twist adequate for most of them, though those pushing to the very heaviest mono-metal bullets should verify stability for their specific load. The 5/8×24 muzzle threads are the standard pattern for .30-caliber muzzle devices and suppressors. Each barrel is HP and MPI tested before leaving the factory, providing documented verification of bore integrity and material consistency. The heavy profile adds rigidity and thermal mass, which helps sustain accuracy through extended shooting sessions as the barrel heats.
