Arsenal Firearms designed the platform around an unusually low bore axis — the barrel sits closer to the shooter’s hand than it does in most full-size pistols — which means the muzzle has less leverage to rotate upward under recoil. That geometry shortens the time between shots because the sights return to target faster without the shooter needing to consciously pull them back down.

Cycling is handled by the patented Speed Lock System, which is Arsenal’s term for the action’s lockup and unlocking sequence. The intent is to keep the slide moving through its cycle as quickly and consistently as possible, which benefits anyone shooting on a timer or working through a stage where hesitation between strings costs points.

The frame is aluminum — that is what Ergal refers to, an aluminum alloy used in the frame construction — and the slide is stainless steel. The orange frame finish makes the pistol immediately identifiable on a shared range or in a stage bay, which has practical value in competition where equipment must stay with its shooter. The fiber optic front sight gathers light aggressively, giving a bright, fast-acquisition dot in varied lighting without any electronics involved. The rear sight is adjustable, so elevation and windage can be dialed to a specific load rather than accepted as fixed. The pistol ships optic-ready and includes two 17-round magazines.
