Description
This Ballistic Advantage Premium Series barrel is built for shooters who want to get more out of a Ruger 10/22 than the factory barrel can offer — whether that means running a suppressor, chasing tighter groups at the range, or simply reducing weight through a cleaner profile. It drops directly into a standard 10/22 receiver with no gunsmithing required, making it a straightforward upgrade for anyone comfortable with basic rifle maintenance.
The 1:16 twist rate is well-suited to the full range of standard .22 LR ammunition, stabilizing both standard- and high-velocity loads without overdriving lighter projectiles the way faster twist rates can. Shooters who cycle through a variety of bulk .22 LR will find the twist rate forgiving across different bullet weights rather than optimized narrowly for one.
The barrel is machined from 416R stainless steel and given a bead blasted finish — the same material and process Ballistic Advantage uses across their centerfire Premium Series line. Bead blasting leaves a matte, non-reflective surface that resists corrosion without the maintenance overhead of a blued finish. The straight fluting runs the length of the barrel, removing material in a way that reduces overall weight while retaining stiffness along the bore axis.
The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28, the standard pattern for .22 LR barrels, and a thread protector is included. A thread cap matters practically here: .22 LR chambers run at low pressure, but unprotected threads collect debris quickly and can make removing a muzzle device difficult after extended use. The included protector keeps the threads serviceable between configurations.
