Description

The BCM QRF-7 is a free-float quad rail handguard built for pistol and short-barreled AR-15 configurations that need Picatinny real estate without the bulk of a longer forend. Because the handguard floats clear of the barrel entirely, any sling tension, bipod pressure, or grip force applied to the rail has no mechanical path to the barrel itself — a meaningful advantage when shot-to-shot consistency matters.

The mounting system uses a steel barrel nut, which resists the thermal expansion that can walk an aluminum nut out of index under sustained fire. A mechanical clocking feature locks the handguard body to the 12 o’clock rail position, so the top rail stays co-planed with the upper receiver’s own rail. T, L, R, and B reference markings are cut into all four rails, giving you a repeatable datum when you remount a light, laser, or grip after a cleaning or field strip — you put it back exactly where it was without guessing.

The body is precision-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with a Type III hardcoat anodize per MIL-A-8625F, which is the same hard, wear-resistant surface specification used on mil-spec receivers. Four limited-rotation QD sling swivel sockets are built into the body, so sling mounting positions are available on either side without a separate rail-mount adapter. The barrel nut accepts any mil-spec diameter barrel up to one inch, and the handguard is sized to work with a carbine-length gas system or shorter, or any build retaining a front sight base. At 7.24 inches of actual rail length, it keeps the package compact where muzzle-forward hardware would otherwise crowd available space.
