Description
The Bergara Premier/B14 Short Action Rail is built for shooters who want a solid foundation for mounting optics on a bolt-action platform without compromising the action’s integrity or introducing slop that undermines repeatability. A dedicated rail integrated directly to the action removes the stacking of tolerances that comes from bolting a separate base to a receiver not machined with that interface in mind. The result is a more consistent return point for your scope between range sessions and after field handling.
The 30 MOA of built-in elevation cant in the rail is the detail that earns its keep for long-range work. At distance, even a scope with generous internal elevation adjustment can run out of travel before the shooter reaches the holds they need. The forward tilt effectively pre-loads that travel in the useful direction, preserving the scope’s mechanical center for fine-tuning while giving you access to holds that would otherwise require dialing past the adjustment’s comfortable range. Shooters running extended-distance androgen will find that offset more than cosmetic.
The dual-hole pattern — 6-48 at the rear, 8-40 at the front — matches Bergara’s own receiver threading and ensures proper engagement depth without risk of bottoming out or stripping threads common when mixing hardware from different standards. Using the correct fastener diameter and pitch for each hole isn’t optional on a precision platform; cross-threading or under-torquing a scope base introduces exactly the kind of zero shift that careful shooting technique cannot compensate for. This rail is machined to work with the Premier and B14 short action family specifically, so the fit is dimensionally predictable rather than approximate.
