Description
The Bergara Premier Barreled Action in 6.5 Creedmoor is built for the shooter who wants a finished, drop-in foundation for a custom or semi-custom build without sourcing and fitting a barrel separately. It ships as a complete barreled action—action and barrel already mated and headspaced—so the work left to the builder is stock or chassis selection, trigger fitting, and optic mounting.
The action is machined from 416 stainless steel in the USA and is dimensioned to fit most Remington 700 pattern stocks and chassis, which means the builder pool of compatible components is wide. Scope bases mount using the Remington 700 8-40 pattern, so existing bases transfer over without modification. The bolt accepts Remington 700 pattern triggers, giving the builder access to the full aftermarket trigger ecosystem for that platform. Internal features include a dual ejector, a sliding plate extractor, an enlarged bolt handle, and a spiral-fluted bolt body.
The barrel is a No. 4 contour—the same profile Bergara uses on the Canyon rifle—which splits the difference between a sporter taper and a heavier varmint profile. That geometry sheds more weight than a benchrest-heavy tube while retaining enough mass to resist harmonic disruption shot to shot. The 1-in-8 inch twist rate stabilizes the heavier long-for-caliber projectiles that make 6.5 Creedmoor effective at distance; bullets in the 130–147 grain range that dominate long-range 6.5 CM loading are well within that twist’s stability window. The muzzle is threaded 5/8-24 and ships with a thread protector installed. The entire assembly leaves the factory in a raw stainless finish, which the builder can leave as-is or hand off for coating.
