Description
The Bergara Cima CF is built for hunters who want a rifle they can carry all day without feeling it, then shoot accurately when the moment counts. At 5.8 pounds, it occupies a category where serious reductions in carried weight are genuinely difficult to achieve, and Bergara reached that figure by engineering nearly every major component in carbon fiber rather than leaning on a single lightweight part to do the work.
The stock is produced through a Resin Transfer Molding process, which forces resin through a closed carbon fiber preform under pressure. The result is a 100% carbon fiber sporter-shaped stock that retains the familiar handling geometry of a traditional hunting rifle while weighing only 18 ounces. Inside that stock sits an SMC carbon mini-chassis that beds the action directly, giving the barreled action a rigid, consistent platform that a hollow polymer shell would not provide. The combination keeps the stock light while maintaining the structural stiffness that repeatable accuracy depends on.
The barrel is Bergara’s CURE carbon fiber construction, which wraps a steel core in carbon fiber to shed weight while preserving the dimensional stability that affects point-of-impact consistency across temperature changes. A 1-in-10-inch twist rate suits the .300 Winchester Magnum’s typical projectile weights well, giving the shooter broad flexibility in bullet selection without having to choose between stability for heavy long-range projectiles and adequate performance with lighter loads. The barrel is threaded 5/8×24 and ships with an Omni Muzzlebrake installed. The receiver wears a Sniper Grey Cerakote finish.
The bottom metal ships with a hinged floorplate but is inlet for AICS-compatible detachable box magazines, so switching to a magazine-fed setup is a straightforward conversion rather than a gunsmithing project. Trigger pull is adjustable and uses a Remington 700 footprint, keeping aftermarket options wide open.
