Description
The Bergara B-14 Crest CF is built around backcountry hunting, where every ounce matters and conditions are unforgiving. It is a rifle for hunters who are willing to walk hard country and need a platform that performs when they finally get into position.
The stock is constructed entirely from carbon fiber with black and gray sponge accents — not a composite blend, not a reinforced polymer, but a full carbon fiber shell. That material choice keeps weight down without sacrificing rigidity, which matters on long carries and matters again when you need a stable shot at the end of one. Length-of-pull spacers let you adjust fit to your build or your layering, so the rifle works whether you’re shooting in a t-shirt or a heavy jacket.
The barrel is a CURE Carbon unit with a threaded muzzle and a #6 taper profile. Carbon-wrapped barrels shed heat differently than steel equivalents and contribute meaningfully to overall weight reduction, though they demand attention to torque consistency during cleaning and suppressor attachment. The 1:7.5-inch twist rate is well-suited to the heavier, high-BC projectiles that 25 Creedmoor handloaders and factory ammunition developers tend to favor for long-range work.
The receiver is steel with a Sniper Gray Cerakote finish and is drilled and tapped for scope mounting. The M5 cutout in the chassis gives the shooter the option to run AICS-pattern detachable magazines or revert to a traditional floorplate — a practical design choice that avoids locking you into a single feeding system. The Bergara Performance trigger and fluted bolt round out a package that is purpose-built rather than accessory-laden. Includes magazine and Omni muzzle brake.
