The B-14 HMR is Bergara’s answer to a rifle that can move between a hunting trip and a precision match without asking the shooter to make meaningful concessions in either setting. The HMR name — Hunting and Match Rifle — reflects a genuine design intent rather than marketing shorthand: the stock integrates a mini-chassis that provides the repeatable bedding of a chassis system while keeping weight closer to a conventional hunting stock.

The adjustable cheekpiece and length-of-pull spacers matter most when you are shooting from a supported position with a scope. Getting your eye centered on the optic consistently, shot after shot, is what separates a rifle that groups well in ideal conditions from one that groups well under field stress. The flush-cup QD sling mounts are built into the stock, so there is no hardware to source or fit separately.

The barrel carries a Graphite Black Cerakote finish, which handles moisture and abrasion better than a raw blued surface without adding meaningful weight. The barrel is fully free-floated, meaning the forend makes no contact with it — pressure from a bipod leg or a shooting bag on the stock does not translate into a point-of-impact shift. The muzzle is threaded and ships with a thread protector installed.

The 1:7.5-inch twist rate is cut for the heavier, high-BC projectiles that make 25 Creedmoor useful at distance. Stabilizing long-for-caliber bullets is what that rate is optimized for; shooters who want to run light varmint-weight bullets will find the twist somewhat faster than necessary for that application. The AICS-pattern detachable magazine makes it straightforward to find aftermarket options. The trigger is Bergara’s own Performance unit, adjustable for pull weight.
