Description
The Bergara Premier HMR Pro is built for shooters who want a single rifle that can move between the precision rifle range and the field without compromise. It suits handloaders and match shooters working with 6.5 Creedmoor who need a platform precise enough to return consistent results from a cold bore, and hunters who want that same mechanical reliability in a package that holds up to weather and hard use.
The barrel is 416 stainless steel finished in Tactical Grey Cerakote, which provides corrosion resistance without the maintenance demands of a bare stainless surface. A 1-in-8 inch twist rate stabilizes the full range of long, high-BC projectiles that make 6.5 Creedmoor effective at distance — heavier bullets in the 140–147 grain range seat well within this twist without the over-stabilization risk you’d see with a faster bore. The muzzle is threaded 5/8″-24 tpi, leaving the door open for a suppressor or muzzle brake without modification.
The Premier action uses a two-lug design with a floating bolt head that indexes independently to the lug abutments, which helps maintain consistent headspace contact shot to shot rather than relying on the fit of the entire bolt body. The stock integrates a mini-chassis for repeatable bedding — meaning the action returns to the same position in the stock every time it’s reassembled, which matters for maintaining zero across disassembly cycles. The cheek piece is adjustable, and length-of-pull spacers let the rifle fit a wider range of shooters without aftermarket modification. The barrel is fully free-floated, so barrel harmonics aren’t affected by inconsistent stock contact pressure from sling tension or shooting position changes.
The rifle ships with one five-round AICS-pattern detachable magazine, which is a widely supported format with a broad selection of compatible aftermarket options.
