Description
The Bergara Premier HMR Pro is built for shooters who want a single rifle capable of serious long-range hunting and precision target work without choosing between the two. Chambered in 7mm PRC, it sits in a cartridge class designed to push heavy, high-BC bullets at velocities that keep trajectories flat and wind drift manageable past 1,000 yards — meaningful for anyone shooting across open terrain or working at extended distance on big game.
The 1-in-8″ twist rate is matched deliberately to the 7mm PRC’s preferred bullet weights. Faster twists stabilize longer, heavier projectiles; this rate gives you the flexibility to run the heavy-for-caliber 7mm bullets the cartridge was designed around without being pinned to a narrow selection. The 24-inch barrel gives the powder charge sufficient time to burn efficiently, extracting more velocity than a shorter tube would allow — a real consideration with a cartridge that benefits from full case capacity being put to work.
The action uses a two-lug bolt with a separate floating bolt head, which keeps the lugs in consistent contact with their abutments in the receiver regardless of minor dimensional variation. A cone-shaped bolt nose guides rounds smoothly from the AICS-pattern detachable magazine, and a spring-loaded sliding plate extractor handles extraction from the front of the lower locking lug. The one-piece stainless steel bolt body is paired with a nitrided bolt head, gas shield, and shroud — nitride treatment adds hardness and provides self-lubricating properties that reduce the need for heavy lubrication in the field.
The Bergara HMR molded stock incorporates an integrated mini-chassis for repeatable bedding without full chassis weight, and the barrel is fully free-floated. An adjustable cheek piece and length-of-pull spacers let you dial in a consistent cheek weld for optics of different heights. The 416 stainless steel barrel and metalwork are finished in Tactical Grey Cerakote for corrosion resistance in wet conditions. Scope bases follow the Remington 700 footprint, so mounting options are broad. No sights are included; this rifle is built around an optic from the start.
