The B-14 Timber is Bergara’s answer for hunters who want a working walnut-stocked rifle without paying custom-shop prices. It is built around a Monte Carlo walnut stock with a raised comb and integral bedding pillars — a construction approach that stabilizes the action against the stock more consistently than a simple inletting job, which matters when you are shooting from field positions and the rifle has to come back to zero hunt after hunt.

The B-14 action runs a two-lug bolt with a coned bolt nose and a matching coned breech. That geometry guides each round into the chamber with less mechanical friction than a square-shouldered design, which translates to a feeding stroke that stays smooth even when the shooter is cold, wearing gloves, or working the action quickly. A sliding plate extractor provides positive control of the case from the moment it enters the chamber through extraction, reducing the risk of a lost case head under hard use.

The barrel is made from 4140 chrome-moly steel and carries a Graphite Black Cerakote finish — a practical choice for a hunting rifle that will see weather, brush, and temperature swings. The 1-in-10-inch twist rate is well suited to the bullet weights most commonly loaded in .243 Winchester, from the 80-grain range used for varmints and deer up through the heavier 100-grain options preferred for larger game, giving handloaders and factory-ammo buyers a good deal of flexibility without needing to compromise on one end of the weight spectrum. The action is drilled and tapped to accept Remington 700-pattern rings and bases, so scope mounting is straightforward with a wide range of existing hardware. A hinged floorplate allows a clean dump of the magazine when needed. The trigger arrives factory-set at approximately three pounds.
