The B14 Timber is Bergara’s answer for the serious big-game hunter who wants production-rifle pricing without giving up the barrel quality that defines the company’s reputation. It is built around a 4140 chrome-moly steel barrel finished in Graphite Black Cerakote, a coating chosen for corrosion resistance in field conditions rather than aesthetics. That barrel is produced at Bergara’s own facility in Spain, which means the chambering and rifling are held to the same standards the company applies across its custom work rather than sourced from a separate supplier.

The 1-in-10-inch twist rate is a conventional choice for .300 Winchester Magnum, well-suited to the 180- and 200-grain bullets most hunters reach for in this cartridge. Shooters planning to run very heavy-for-caliber projectiles should verify bullet compatibility, but for standard hunting loads this twist keeps options wide open. Feeding and extraction run through a two-lug bolt with a sliding plate extractor and a coned bolt nose and breech — the coned geometry encourages rounds to guide cleanly into the chamber even when the rifle is worked quickly under pressure. The trigger is Bergara’s own curved-blade Performance Trigger, set at approximately three pounds from the factory.

The stock is Monte Carlo-style walnut with a raised comb and cheek piece, bedded with integral epoxy pillars machined directly into the stock during manufacture. Pillar bedding isolates the action from the wood and keeps the torque on the action screws consistent regardless of how the stock responds to humidity — a real consideration for a wood-stocked rifle taken into varying climates. The receiver is drilled and tapped to accept Remington 700-pattern rings and bases, which makes scope selection straightforward given how many options exist in that footprint.
