The B-14 Timber is Bergara’s answer for the hunter or field shooter who wants a precision-grade action dressed in traditional wood rather than a synthetic chassis. It is built around the B-14 action, which uses a two-lug bolt with a 90-degree throw and a sliding plate extractor — a geometry that keeps bolt cycling positive and predictable under field conditions without the feel of a plinking rifle. The stock is a walnut Monte Carlo design, which raises the comb relative to a conventional straight stock so the shooter’s eye naturally aligns with a scope without craning the neck; that matters on a hunting rifle where you may be shooting from awkward positions with cold hands.

The 1-in-10-inch twist rate is well matched to the .308 / 7.62 NATO chambering, stabilizing the mid-weight projectiles — roughly 150 to 175 grains — that most hunters and service-rifle shooters favor in this cartridge. It will also handle heavier match bullets in the 168–175 grain range without over-spinning lighter varmint loads. The 20-inch barrel gives up a modest amount of muzzle velocity compared to a 24-inch hunting profile but makes the rifle noticeably easier to carry through cover and maneuver from a blind or shooting house.
