Description

Suppressors run hot, and an unguarded tube is a burn hazard the moment you transition the muzzle toward your body or sweep past your kit. The Burn Proof Gear Suppressor Cover Heavy is built for shooters who run their cans hard and need reliable thermal protection between themselves and the suppressor body. It fits suppressors with a 1.5-inch outer diameter, and the design adds no more than 0.25 inches to that diameter once installed, so it clears most holsters and cases sized around the host weapon.

The cover uses two materials working in concert. The outer layer is a DuPont Kevlar diamond weave ripstop rated to 1,400°F — enough thermal headroom for sustained rifle fire. The inner liner is a fiberglass mesh sleeving rated to 2,000°F, which handles the direct contact heat that the outer layer alone could not absorb. Together they do more than protect the shooter: they also suppress heat mirage that can distort a precision sight picture at range, and they reduce infrared signature in low-light conditions where thermal emissions would otherwise give away a position.

The cover is cut 0.5 inches longer than the suppressor itself, which lets the excess cinch around the front and rear of the can to prevent the cover from walking forward under recoil or during movement. It is a two-piece system — the outer shell and the inner sleeving — and both are manufactured in the United States. This Flat Dark Earth variant uses Kevlar fabric in FDE for the outer shell. The 5.5-inch length is sized for shorter suppressor configurations and keeps overall added weight minimal.
