Description

The B&T Assault Closed Tine Compensator is built for shooters running B&T or SureFire fast-attach suppressors on .223 Rem or 5.56 NATO rifles who want a muzzle device that does real work whether a can is mounted or not. The closed-tine design means the tines form a sealed cage around the muzzle rather than open prongs, which keeps gases directed more consistently and reduces the risk of snagging on gear or vegetation that open-tine designs can present.

The device functions as both a flash hider and a compensator simultaneously. The compensator ports bleed propellant gas upward to counteract muzzle rise during rapid strings of fire, while the tine geometry breaks up the visible flash signature at the muzzle. That dual role matters when you want a single device that manages both handling and visibility without swapping hardware between uses.

Construction is heat-treated stainless steel with a DLC-coated finish. Heat treating raises the hardness and fatigue resistance of the stainless, which matters at a component that absorbs the mechanical shock and heat of every shot. The DLC coating adds surface hardness and corrosion resistance while keeping the profile low-reflectance. At 3.3 oz, the added weight forward of the receiver is modest enough that it does not noticeably shift balance on a standard carbine. Thread pitch is 1/2×28, the standard for .223/5.56 barrels, and the fast-attach interface is engineered to accept both B&T and SureFire suppressor mounts directly, so there is no adapter required when transitioning between suppressed and unsuppressed configurations.
