Description
The Bushnell A1 is a compact 10×25 binocular built for situations where weight and bulk are genuine constraints — day hikes, travel, range use as a spotting aid, or any context where a full-size glass stays behind. The 25mm objective limits low-light gathering compared to larger formats, but that is the deliberate trade-off that lets this binocular disappear into a jacket pocket or day pack.
The roof prism layout keeps the barrels inline and the body narrow, which is what makes the compact form factor possible. Bushnell’s EXO Barrier coating is a hydrophobic and oleophobic treatment bonded directly to the outer lens surfaces — water, oil, and debris shed rather than smear, and the coating resists abrasion without degrading the optical path. The optics are fully multicoated, meaning every air-to-glass surface across the entire system receives multiple layers of anti-reflection coating, not just the front and rear elements. That matters for contrast and color fidelity at a given light level.
IPX7 waterproofing means the housing is sealed against submersion to one meter for thirty minutes, and the interior is nitrogen-purged to prevent internal fogging when moving between temperature extremes. The wave-textured rubber armor provides grip and buffers the optics from impact. A snap-lock strap system is included along with a microfiber carry bag. The A1 ships with a limited lifetime warranty from Bushnell.
