Description
The R5 12×50 is built for hunters who spend long hours glassing in low light — first and last light when game is moving but the sun is barely cooperating. The 50mm objective gathers enough light to make the 12x magnification genuinely useful at dawn and dusk rather than just on paper, and the HD optical system behind it is designed to convert that light into contrast and resolution rather than washing it out.
Bushnell’s Phase 3 prism coating corrects a phase shift that occurs as light travels through a roof prism — without it, fine detail at the edges of an object tends to blur and fringe. The dielectric coating on the prism face complements this by reflecting more of the available light back into the optical path instead of losing it at the glass surface. Together they do the work that matters most when you’re trying to read antler mass or count points in poor light. Fully multi-coated lenses handle the same problem at every air-to-glass surface throughout the barrel.
EXO Barrier is Bushnell’s proprietary lens coating that bonds at a molecular level to repel water, oil, dust, and debris — useful when you’re wiping glass with a shirt sleeve in a damp treestand. The chassis is nitrogen-purged to prevent internal fogging when you move between cold and warm environments, and the IPX7 waterproof rating means it can be submerged in a meter of water for thirty minutes without failure. The Ranger Green colorway is designed to read neutral across most natural environments and camouflage patterns. A Vault Lite chest harness is included, which integrates with Bushnell’s broader Vault accessory system. The R5 is covered by Bushnell’s Lifetime Unconditional Warranty.
