Description

CCI’s Hevi-Bismuth Pest Control shotshells bring a meaningful upgrade to the centerfire shotshell concept: instead of lead pellets, they use bismuth, which carries a shot density of 9.6 g/cc — close enough to lead that the terminal performance at short range is comparable, without the toxicity concerns that come with conventional shot. That matters on properties where environmental impact is a consideration, or anywhere you simply want to keep lead out of the soil around structures.

The cartridges are loaded into aluminum cases and ignited by CCI’s Catalyst lead-free primer, making the entire round free of lead from primer to payload. This is not a round engineered for cycling a semi-automatic reliably; it is built for deliberate, aimed shots at pest species at close range — snakes, rats, and similar targets where a spreading pattern is more useful than a single projectile. A revolver or single-action pistol is the natural platform, and CCI notes the round is not recommended for ported barrels or ported compensators. In lightweight revolvers, capsule movement under recoil inertia can cause cylinder lockup, so a heavier-framed gun is the better choice.

The 200-round count here represents a case quantity, giving you meaningful supply for ongoing pest control work without constant reordering. Each box holds 10 rounds, and at short defensive-against-pests distances the non-toxic payload does its job without requiring you to compromise on performance relative to what lead shot would deliver at the same range.
