Description

This is a factory Colt magazine built for 1911 pistols chambered in 9mm, specifically sized to fit Government and Commander frame lengths. If you run a 1911 platform in 9mm for carry, competition, or range work, this is the magazine Colt ships with the gun — not an aftermarket approximation.

The body is laser-welded stainless steel, which keeps the construction tight and gives the magazine natural corrosion resistance without relying solely on a surface coating. Inside, a high-tensile steel spring and steel follower work together to push rounds up consistently under load — the spring rate matters here because 9mm in a 1911 frame runs on a different geometry than .45 ACP, and a spring tuned for that geometry reduces the chance of feed hesitation as the magazine runs down. Numbered witness holes on the body let you read remaining round count at a glance without removing the magazine from the gun.

The floor plate is flat steel, and a polymer bumper pad fits over it. The bumper does two things: it gives your support hand a positive surface to strip and seat the magazine quickly, and it absorbs impact if the magazine hits the ground during a reload, which protects the feed lips from the kind of damage that causes misfeeds. Stainless construction throughout means the body and follower resist the salt and moisture that come with regular handling and carry. Ten rounds of 9mm gives you meaningful capacity in a package that still fits flush with standard 1911 grip geometry.
