Description
The Python Combat Elite is built for a shooter who wants a carry-capable revolver without giving up the adjustable sighting system that makes the full-size Python worth zeroing carefully. The 3-inch barrel keeps the package compact enough for a strong-side or crossdraw holster while retaining enough sight radius to shoot with precision at realistic defensive distances.
The front sight carries a tritium insert, which means low-light target acquisition is handled by the sight itself rather than an add-on. The rear sight is fully adjustable, so you can dial in your zero for a specific load rather than accepting whatever point of impact the fixed geometry gives you — a meaningful advantage when the difference between .38 Special and full-power .357 Magnum shifts your groups noticeably at distance.
The 1-in-14-inch twist rate is well-suited to the range of bullets commonly loaded in .357 Magnum, from lighter expanding projectiles through the heavier cast and jacketed options favored for hunting or deep penetration. The barrel and frame are polished stainless, which Colt calls the Stainless finish — not simply rust-resistant, but a surface that will show handling marks honestly and clean up well. The grip panels are black G10 with a Colt medallion, a material that holds up to oil and moisture without the degradation that affects some polymer and wood alternatives. The action runs double- and single-action, giving you the option of a longer deliberate pull or a crisp single-action break for slower, more precise shots.
