Description
The G43 is EOTech’s answer to a straightforward problem: shooters who want a compact magnifier behind a holographic sight without the bulk that usually comes with 3x glass. It’s a direct descendant of the G33, trimmed down in overall length while retaining the same core function — flipping between magnified and unmagnified views without breaking position or losing zero.
The Switch-to-Side mount pivots the magnifier out of the optical path when close-quarters work demands a true 1x picture, then swings back into alignment when range increases. That transition happens without tools and without disturbing the mount’s attachment to the rail. The mount itself uses a quick-detach lever system that accepts 1-inch Weaver and MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rails, and the locking mechanism is ambidextrous, so it’s not handed to a particular shooter’s setup.
The internal optics are sealed against moisture and fog — relevant on any platform that moves between temperature extremes, where an unsealed lens system would immediately cloud on the inside where you can’t wipe it. The housing is submersible to 33 feet, which covers field conditions well beyond typical rain or water crossing scenarios.
Azimuth adjustment is tool-free, and a diopter lets individual shooters tune focus to their own eye. Compatibility extends to every current EOTech HWS model, so the G43 doesn’t constrain a shooter’s choice of holographic sight. At 11.3 ounces, it adds meaningful but manageable weight to the host rifle, and its physical footprint is small enough that it doesn’t push the holographic sight forward of a practical eye position. This is the STS variant, which includes the Switch-to-Side mount in the box.
