The design starts with a roll crimp rather than a standard fold crimp. That added structural rigidity at the shell mouth helps the round feed cleanly through both tube-fed and magazine-fed shotguns — a practical consideration for competitors who may switch between platforms or whose magazine-fed guns are less tolerant of shell deformation under spring pressure.
