Description
Estate Super Sport target loads are built for clay target shooters who want a dedicated practice and competition shell without paying a premium price. The 20-gauge platform is a natural fit here — its lighter payload and more manageable recoil make it a practical choice for high-volume shooting sessions at skeet, trap, or sporting clays without the fatigue that can accumulate over a long round with heavier gauges.
The 7/8 oz charge of #8 lead shot is well matched to clay target distances, delivering a dense pattern with enough pellet count to break birds reliably at typical field presentations. Fine progressive-burning powder helps produce a consistent velocity of 1,200 fps while keeping chamber pressure in a range that 20-gauge semi-automatics and over-unders can cycle comfortably across an extended session. The specially designed perforated wad is intended to release the shot column cleanly and preserve pattern integrity downrange — a detail that matters more at trap yardages than at close-in skeet stations.
The hulls are biaxially-oriented plastic with a brass-plated metal head, which contributes to reliable primer seating and consistent ignition — two factors that compound in importance when you’re shooting a timed event or working through a full round without interruption. Multi-screened magnum-grade shot helps maintain pellet roundness, which in turn produces more uniform patterns. These are purpose-built competition target loads, not general-purpose field rounds repurposed for the range, and the component selection reflects that focus.
