Description
Federal’s High Over All is built specifically for competitive clay target shooting — trap, skeet, and sporting clays — where consistency matters more than any single shot. The load is engineered around hard, high-antimony lead pellets. Antimony raises the hardness of lead, which helps pellets resist deformation during the violence of ignition and the trip down the barrel. Rounder pellets maintain tighter, more predictable patterns downrange, which translates directly to more broken targets over a long day of shooting.
Federal’s exclusive Podium wad is a single-piece design that cushions the shot column at ignition, reducing the pellet deformation that a standard wad allows. The result is a more uniform pattern at the distances where clay targets are typically engaged. The eight-segment crimp closes evenly and consistently, which contributes to shot-to-shot velocity uniformity — at 1,145 fps, this load is tuned for the modest recoil that lets a shooter run multiple rounds in a session without fatigue throwing off timing.
The solid brass head and tapered one-piece plastic hull are worth noting for anyone who reloads. Solid brass is more dimensionally stable through multiple firings than a plated or base-wad-heavy hull, and the tapered hull design is compatible with a wider range of component wads than a conventional straight hull. Federal states this hull is designed to withstand more reloading cycles than a standard competition shell, which matters if you burn through volume at the range. Each box contains 25 rounds, and the 250-round case option is well suited to sustained practice or a full match weekend.
