Description
Federal Master Class is built for competitive sporting clays and FITASC, where shot consistency and pattern density matter more than raw power. This is a load for shooters who want components that perform at the level a serious clay course demands, without paying the premium of premium hunting ammunition.
The foundation of the design is the Podium wad, a one-piece unit developed specifically to work with Federal’s straight-wall hull. That hull uses a two-piece construction with an inserted plastic base wad and a striated tube. The striation helps the wad release cleanly and consistently on every shot, which matters when you are running through a high-volume sporting clays round and need uniform patterns from station to station.
The shot itself is high-antimony lead, a composition chosen because it holds its spherical shape under the violence of ignition better than softer lead. Rounder pellets fly truer and strike with more energy at distance, which translates directly into broken targets on the longer presentation shots that separate competitors at the higher FITASC levels. The 7/8-ounce payload in 20 gauge carries 359 pellets at #8 shot size, giving you dense coverage on fast crossers and going-away birds without the added recoil of a heavier charge.
At 1,250 fps, the velocity sits in the range most over-under and semi-automatic 20-gauge competition guns are regulated to cycle reliably, and the moderate payload keeps muzzle rise manageable across a long day of shooting. Packaged 25 rounds per box.
