Hornady loads this ammunition with military-grade boxer primers. Boxer primer geometry uses a single central flash hole, which is what makes brass reloadable — decapping and repriming with common tooling is straightforward. The propellant is noncorrosive, so there is no accelerated bore fouling or the salt residue that demands immediate cleaning after a range session. For high-volume training or range work, that translates to more rounds before a mandatory cleaning interval becomes necessary.
