Description
The GBRS Group Hydra V2 Mount Kit is built for shooters who run night vision, communications headsets, gas masks, or other equipment that pushes a standard cheekweld-height optic into an awkward sight picture. The core engineering decision here is a 2.91-inch optic centerline — significantly higher than a conventional mount — which lets the shooter maintain a more upright, heads-up posture rather than driving their face down into the stock. That posture keeps body armor oriented toward the threat and improves peripheral awareness in dynamic situations.
The elevated platform also doubles as a raised Picatinny rail, so lights, aiming devices, thermals, or other accessories can be mounted above the handguard on platforms where rail space is otherwise at a premium — particularly relevant on short PDW and SMG configurations. The neck of the mount incorporates a pass-through channel sized for cable management or iron sight access on compatible optic variants. The back section of the base is intentionally shortened so that flip-to-center magnifiers can sit closer to the red dot, tightening eye relief without requiring a separate offset mount.
This kit is configured for the Aimpoint Micro T-2. Hardware is machined from aluminum with an anodized finish in Flat Dark Earth. The clamping screws and clamp itself are custom heat-treated, black Nitrided stainless steel rather than standard hardware-grade fasteners. Allen wrench pass-through holes are built into the body to simplify optic installation without removing the mount from the rail. The design carries multiple active U.S. patents and is backed by GBRS Group’s limited lifetime warranty.
