Description

The SD-3G is Geissele’s answer to the specific demands of 3-Gun competition, where a shooter needs to move between targets quickly and consistently without the deliberate two-stage discipline that suits a precision rifle. It shares its architecture with the S3G but adds a flat trigger bow, which shifts the mechanical leverage point so the pull feels lighter than the spring weight alone would suggest and gives the finger a more consistent contact surface from shot to shot. That tactile consistency matters when you are calling resets under time pressure.

The trigger action itself occupies an intentional middle ground. Geissele designed it to behave like a single-stage trigger in the sense that the shooter does not need to consciously work through a defined first wall before breaking the shot, yet the internals retain the disconnector geometry of a two-stage design. That carries-over from the two-stage world means the trigger is forgiving of a hard follow-through without inadvertently firing on the reset, which is a real consideration in a competition context where a shooter’s grip tension changes between shooting positions. The reset stroke is kept short, so the trigger finger does not have to travel far before the sear re-engages, directly reducing split times on follow-up shots.

Pull weight can be adjusted between two values by swapping the spring, giving the shooter a degree of tuning without requiring a trigger replacement. Installation is straightforward for anyone familiar with mil-spec AR lower receivers; no special pins or modified fire control pockets are required. The SD-3G is built for mil-spec AR15 platforms and is not cross-compatible with pistol-caliber variants.
