The bullet at the center of this load is Hornady’s FTX, a flex-tip expanding design. The soft polymer tip sitting in the cavity serves two functions: it initiates rapid, consistent expansion on impact even at reduced velocities, and it eliminates the risk of tip deformation during recoil inside a magazine—a real concern with traditional hollow-points in tubular-magazine rifles.
