Description

Hornady’s Subsonic 350 Legend load is built around a straightforward problem: the .350 Legend case running below the speed of sound. At subsonic velocities, conventional expanding bullets often fail to open reliably because they depend on hydraulic pressure that drops off sharply at lower speeds. Hornady addresses this with the SUB-X bullet, which uses a long, flexible polymer tip seated above a lead core. On impact, the tip is driven rearward into the hollow point cavity, initiating controlled expansion even when velocity is modest. The result is a projectile designed to deliver terminal performance at the ranges and speeds where subsonic ammunition actually operates.

The 250-grain weight is deliberately heavy for the caliber. That mass helps maintain momentum downrange after the bullet leaves the muzzle below the sound barrier, which matters for consistent terminal behavior on medium game.
