The 165-grain SST — Super Shock Tip — bullet uses a polymer tip seated into a hollow point cavity. The jacket is designed to hold together well enough to push through shoulder bone and reach vitals, while still delivering the terminal upset needed for a clean kill. This is a boat-tail projectile, which helps it shed velocity more slowly in flight, keeping energy on target at longer distances.

Hornady loads this ammunition in brass cases, which are reloadable for shooters who eventually want to work up custom loads once they’ve accumulated fired brass.
