Description
The Lantac Drakon DGNAK47B-ASR is a muzzle brake built for AK-pattern rifles chambered in 7.62x39mm, designed around two practical goals: driving felt recoil and muzzle climb as close to zero as mechanically possible, and giving the shooter a direct path to mounting a SilencerCo suppressor without swapping devices. It is a purpose-specific piece, not a general-purpose brake with an adapter bolted on.
The brake’s patented gas handling system works by managing the escaping propellant gas so that the forces acting on the muzzle are counteracted before they translate into rise or rearward push. A separate Short Energy Pulse design shortens the duration of each recoil event, which prevents the impulse from one shot from still being felt when the next round fires — a meaningful consideration during rapid or sustained fire, where stacking recoil cycles is what pulls a shooter off the point of aim.
Threaded 14×1 left-hand to match standard AK barrel threading, the brake integrates SilencerCo’s ASR quick-mount interface, which allows the SilencerCo Omega suppressor or Blast Shield to be attached and detached without tools. The brake itself is machined from 4140 gun steel, hardened to 48Rc, and finished in Black Nitride QPQ for corrosion resistance. It ships with a full timing shim set — multiple thicknesses included — so the brake can be properly indexed to the barrel. Lantac recommends Rocksett thread locker for final installation, which is not included. Note that this device is not compatible with Lantac’s own BMD (Blast Mitigation Device). Manufactured in the USA and serial numbered for traceability.
