Description

The LWRC IC-MKII in Olive Drab Green Cerakote is built for shooters who want a compact, duty-capable AR-platform rifle that doesn’t ask for compromises in reliability or ergonomics. The 14.7-inch barrel is pinned and welded to a muzzle device, bringing the overall assembly to the same external length as a longer profile while keeping the handling characteristics of a shorter package — useful in vehicles, tight spaces, or anywhere a standard carbine feels awkward.

LWRC’s short-stroke piston operating system drives the action, which changes the recoil impulse meaningfully compared to a direct-impingement design. The bolt carrier moves rearward in a sharper but shorter stroke, keeping hot gas and carbon out of the receiver and reducing the heat transferred to the bolt group during sustained firing. The A5 two-position gas block lets you tune the system between suppressed and unsuppressed operation without tools. The spiral-fluted barrel sheds weight and surface area, which helps dissipate heat faster during higher round counts.

The Monoforge upper receiver is machined as a single piece, integrating the upper and rail into one unit rather than attaching a separate handguard — this removes the tolerance stack between components and gives the platform a rigid mounting surface for optics and accessories. The fully ambidextrous lower handles all primary controls from either side, which matters if you shoot from barricades or awkward positions. LWRC’s Compact Adjustable Stock covers a usable length-of-pull range, and the rifle ships with Skirmish Back-Up Sights already installed. The 1-in-7 twist rate stabilizes the full range of .223/5.56 projectiles reliably, with particular suitability for heavier bullets in the 62–77 grain range. The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28 for standard suppressor and muzzle device compatibility.
