Description
The REPR MKII in 6.5 Creedmoor is built for precision work at distance — the kind of shooting where a bolt gun is the usual answer but a semi-automatic gives a meaningful advantage in follow-up shots and andstress fire. It suits the long-range competitor, the serious hunter who wants a repeatable zero without working a bolt, and the shooter who wants one rifle capable of reaching past 800 yards without compromising on mechanical reliability.
The short-stroke gas piston system is the starting point for everything the REPR MKII does well in sustained use. Unlike a direct-impingement design, the piston keeps hot combustion gas out of the receiver, which means less carbon accumulation on the bolt carrier and a cooler, cleaner action over a long range session. Felt impulse is also different — piston systems tend to produce a more rearward push rather than the snappier, more diffuse recoil of direct impingement, which matters when you are calling your own shots through a scope.
The 20-inch spiral-fluted barrel is the right length for 6.5 Creedmoor to burn powder efficiently and push heavier match projectiles to their intended velocity. Fluting reduces weight along the barrel without shortening it, and it increases surface area for faster cooling between strings. The 1-in-8 twist rate stabilises the long, high-BC bullets that make 6.5 Creedmoor useful at range — think 140-grain projectiles in the ELD-Match weight class — while remaining controllable with lighter loads.
The side-charging handle moves the charging interface to the left side of the upper receiver, so the shooter’s firing hand stays on the grip and cheek weld is never broken to run the action. The Geissele SSA-E two-stage trigger gives a distinct take-up and a clean break, which is a meaningful aid to precise shot release at distance. LWRC Skirmish back-up sights are included, and the Magpul PRS stock allows repeatable adjustments to both length of pull and comb height — useful when switching between body positions or accommodating different optics heights. The 5/8×24 muzzle thread accepts a wide range of muzzle devices in that pitch.
