Description
This is a factory H&K magazine for the USP Compact and P2000 in 9mm, built to the same dimensional tolerances as the magazine that shipped with the pistol. For carry guns, that matters: a magazine that fits the chamber of the mag well exactly leaves no room for the slight wobble that can cause feeding hesitation under stress or during rapid string fire.
The body is blued steel, which gives the magazine its structural rigidity and resistance to deformation if dropped or compressed in a holster under load. A steel spring maintains consistent round-to-round feed pressure across the full column, so the last round feeds with the same authority as the first. The follower is polymer and colored red, which serves a practical purpose — when the magazine is empty and locked back, a glance confirms status without counting or feeling for a round.
The extended floor plate adds a modest amount of grip surface at the base of the magazine, making it easier to seat firmly during a reload and simpler to strip from the mag well if needed. This is the finger-rest variant, so the baseplate extends slightly beyond the frame of the pistol when seated, which can help shooters with larger hands achieve a fuller firing grip on a compact platform without extending overall length significantly.
As a direct factory replacement, this magazine requires no modification to the pistol and drops free cleanly. Keeping at least one or two spares in rotation is straightforward insurance against the wear that accumulates in any magazine used regularly for training.
