MDT’s polymer AICS magazine for 6mm GT gives precision rifle shooters a lightweight feeding option purpose-built for the cartridge’s longer overall length and specific headspacing requirements — a detail that matters because 6GT shares a case body with 6BR but runs a different shoulder angle, meaning the two are not interchangeable in a magazine without risking reliable feed geometry. Getting that geometry right in polymer rather than metal keeps weight down on chassis builds where every ounce across bipod, scope, and stock starts to add up during long field days or positional stages.

The body is molded from a high-glass-content polymer chosen for rigidity under compression. MDT has run these through the kind of abuse testing — including running over them with vehicles — that demonstrates the material holds its shape even when a bag-rider or loader is putting lateral force on the lip. The spring inside is tempered steel rather than polymer, which maintains consistent follower pressure through the full 10-round stack and resists set over time from being stored loaded.

Fit is the central consideration with any AICS-pattern magazine, and this one is designed around MDT’s own chassis lineup — the TAC21, ACC Elite, ACC Premier, HNT26, ORYX, TIMBR ESS, LSS-XL, XRS, and LSS systems — as well as other M24-style chassis and bottom metals. It does not interchange with Browning X-Bolt or Winchester XPC inlets, and Winchester Model 70 may require fitting. For GRS stocks, CDI bottom metals, XLR chassis, and Pacific Tool and Gauge bottom metals configured for AICS magazines, function is generally confirmed with the caveat that fitting may be needed depending on individual tolerances.
