Description

MDT’s AICS-pattern detachable box magazine is built for precision rifle chassis and bottom metal systems that follow the AICS footprint — the same geometry used by MDT’s own TAC21, ACC, ESS, LSS, LSS-XL, XRS, and HS3 chassis. If your chassis or bottom metal is cut for AICS, this magazine is designed to drop in without modification. Third-party systems from XLR and GRS, as well as bottom metals from CDI Precision and Pacific Tool and Gauge, have also been reported to work, though some may require minor fitting.

The body is molded from a high glass-content polymer, which keeps weight down while resisting the flex and cracking that can plague lower-grade plastics under hard use. MDT pairs that shell with a tempered steel spring, so the feed geometry stays consistent across the full round count rather than softening over time the way some all-polymer internals can. The 3-round capacity keeps the profile flush and low, which matters if you’re shooting from a bag or bipod and want the magazine clear of the surface between shots.

The .308/7.62 NATO and 6.5 Creedmoor families share the same case head dimensions and overall length envelope, so one magazine design covers both calibers along with several related cartridges including 243 Win, 260 Rem, 7mm-08, and 6mm Creedmoor. Maximum overall cartridge length is 2.850 inches, which accommodates most factory and hand-loaded ammunition in these calibers but is worth confirming against any long-jump loads seated well out. Not recommended for .300 WSM, which requires feed lip adjustments better suited to a steel magazine.
