MDT’s AICS-pattern polymer magazine is built for precision rifle chassis and bottom-metal systems that accept the AICS footprint — a standard that spans a wide range of bolt-action platforms, from dedicated long-range rigs to hunting chassis. The five-round capacity suits situations where a flush or near-flush profile matters more than round count, and the magazine works across the entire .308-family case head, meaning one magazine body covers .308 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6mm Creedmoor, .243 Win, 7mm-08, and several other short-action cartridges built on the same dimensions.

The body is molded from a high-glass-content polymer, which keeps weight down while giving the material enough rigidity to resist the racking and compression forces that occur during feeding under firing conditions. The internal spring is tempered steel, which maintains consistent follower tension across the full round count — inconsistent spring pressure is a common source of feeding failures as a magazine empties. MDT specifies a maximum cartridge overall length of 2.850 inches, so handloaders working near the upper end of that envelope should verify their loaded rounds clear before use.

Compatibility is broad but not universal. MDT guarantees function in their own HNT26, XRS, TAC21, LSS, LSS-XL, HS3, ESS, and ACC chassis. Many third-party AICS-pattern inlets — including GRS stocks, CDI Precision bottom metals, and Pacific Tool and Gauge bottom metals — also accept it, though some may require minor fitting. The Winchester XPC inlet is a known exception. This magazine is not recommended for the ACC Elite or ACC Premier Gen2 wells, where the larger magazine well dimensions are better served by the metal five-round or higher-capacity polymer options.
