Description

The Shield Arms S15 Gen 3 is built for shooters who carry a Glock 43X or Glock 48 and want more ammunition on hand without changing the external profile of the pistol. The standard OEM magazine holds 10 rounds; this one holds 15 in the same flush-fit envelope, which means no grip extension protruding below the frame and no change to how the gun carries or sits in a holster.

That additional capacity comes from a patented staggered-round geometry machined into a steel body. Steel is the relevant material choice here: the Glock 43X ships with a polymer magazine, and polymer compresses slightly under spring pressure over time. The all-steel construction of the S15 maintains consistent internal dimensions under load, which matters for reliable feeding across a full magazine.

The Gen 3 revision introduced raised ribs on the rear of the body that index the magazine to the same position as the OEM unit, so the pistol’s grip geometry and trigger reach are unaffected. The Electroless Nickel finish on this variant — Shield Arms calls it Black Nickel — provides corrosion resistance without adding measurable wall thickness.

One trade-off worth understanding before purchase: Shield Arms specifies that this magazine requires their steel magazine catch, either the standard or premium version. The factory Glock polymer catch is not designed for the geometry of a steel magazine body and can cause retention and drop-free issues. If you run both OEM and S15 magazines in the same pistol, plan on the steel catch as the baseline. The magazine is also compatible with Shield Arms magwells and their aluminum extension should you want to push capacity further at the range.
