The Shield Arms Z9 Starter Kit is built for Glock 43 owners who want more capacity without giving up the compact footprint that made them choose the gun in the first place. It pairs a Z9 steel magazine with a black nitride steel magazine catch in a single package, and that pairing is deliberate — the Z9’s steel body exerts more force on a polymer mag catch than the OEM magazine does, which is why Shield Arms includes their own steel replacement catch rather than leaving you to find one separately.

The magazine itself uses a patent-pending internal geometry that staggers rounds, allowing nine rounds to fit within the same overall length as the factory Glock 43 magazine with its pinky extension. That’s three additional rounds without any change to how the pistol prints or sits in a holster. The body carries a Powercron finish — a cationic epoxy electrocoat — which resists corrosion without the added thickness of traditional spray coatings, and the base pad is designed for tool-free removal if you need to strip the magazine for cleaning.
