The low-profile steel base pad keeps the footprint trim — useful when the magazine needs to clear a holster or sit flush with the grip during carry — while still being robust enough to absorb the impact of a drop without deforming or cracking the way polymer pads can over time.

The tube is formed from aircraft-grade 17-7 PH stainless steel and heat-treated after forming, which maintains dimensional consistency under the repeated compression and release cycle that a magazine spring imposes on the body over thousands of insertions. The black fluoropolymer finish resists corrosion and cuts surface reflection without adding meaningful thickness to the tube walls.

Inside, a fiber-infused nylon follower moves on a heavy-duty spring wound to maintain consistent tension across all eight rounds. That tension matters specifically at the top of the stack: inconsistent spring force at full compression is a common cause of failure-to-feed on the first round, and it is also what drives reliable slide-lock when the last round clears.
