Description

Wilson Combat has been building 1911 magazines for serious use for three decades, and this Compact/Officer-size unit reflects that accumulated experience. The magazine is built for shooters who carry or compete with a shorter-frame 1911 and need a feed device that keeps pace with the pistol’s reliability demands rather than becoming its weakest point.

The tube is drawn from 17-7 PH stainless steel and heat treated after forming, which stabilizes the material against the repeated stress of loading cycles and prevents the gradual dimensional creep that causes feeding problems over time. At .025 inches thick, the wall offers enough rigidity to resist deformation from drops or rough handling without adding unnecessary weight. The black fluoropolymer finish provides corrosion resistance and a low-reflectivity surface well suited to carry use.

The follower is made from fiber-fill nylon, a self-lubricating material that moves through the tube without requiring external lubrication and resists the galling that can develop between a polymer follower and a steel tube under sustained use. The spring is wound from heavy-gauge wire, which maintains consistent upward pressure through the full range of rounds and ensures reliable slide stop engagement on the last round.

The steel base pad sits flush with the magazine tube rather than extending below the grip, which keeps the overall profile clean for concealment and avoids snagging during a draw. It removes for cleaning or swapping to a different base pad option without tools. The magazine is sized for Compact and Officer-frame 1911 pistols chambered in .45 ACP and holds seven rounds.
