Description
The Magpul GL L-Plate is built for GLOCK-pattern 9mm shooters who run Magpul PMAG GL9 magazines and want a meaningful upgrade to their factory floorplate without committing to a full competition basepad. It fits every PMAG GL9 model and installs without tools, replacing the stock floorplate directly.
The approximately quarter-inch of additional length at the base serves a specific mechanical purpose: it creates a ledge that lets the support hand thumb or index finger catch and drive the magazine into the magwell positively during a reload. This matters most when shooting frames equipped with extended magwells, where a flush factory floorplate can slip past the magwell lip before locking. That small dimensional change is the difference between a reload that seats on contact and one that requires a second strike.
The exterior uses a rubber overmold over reinforced polymer. The rubber layer provides traction for stripping the magazine during malfunction clearances and for pulling it cleanly from a pouch, while the reinforced polymer underneath keeps the floorplate from deforming under the repeated impacts of dropped magazines during training or competition. That combination extends the usable service life of the magazine body itself by absorbing energy at the base rather than passing it to the feed lips or follower.
This listing includes three floorplates, making it practical to equip a full competition or training magazine set in a single purchase. Compatible with all Magpul PMAG GL9 GLOCK 9mm magazine variants. Made in the USA.
