Description

The Magpul PMAG D-50 GL9 is built for shooters who run double-stack 9mm GLOCK handguns and want sustained fire capacity without the vertical bulk of a traditional extended magazine. The drum configuration is the key trade-off here: by routing rounds in a spiral rather than stacking them straight down, the magazine keeps its overall height manageable compared to what a 50-round stick magazine would require, making holstering and storage more practical between uses.

Loading a fully tensioned 50-round magazine by hand is a real chore, so Magpul integrated a ratcheting loading lever that takes tension off the internal spring and lets you seat rounds methodically without fighting resistance. A rear window and a capacity indication roller give you a running count of what remains, and a high-visibility follower makes chamber status easy to read at a glance. The bolt hold-open feature works with firearms designed to lock back on GLOCK-pattern magazine followers, so you get the same last-round feedback you would from a factory magazine.

A few compatibility points are worth understanding before you run this magazine. On Gen 1 through Gen 3 GLOCK handguns, Magpul recommends replacing the OEM magazine release to handle the additional weight; Gen 4 pistols require an aftermarket metal release. A new recoil spring assembly is also strongly recommended to ensure reliable feeding, and individual firearms may require an extra-power spring. The magazine is fully disassemblable for cleaning. Note that use in pistol caliber carbines is not recommended, as the longer feed tower will be partially unsupported in most PCC magazine wells.
