Description

The Magpul Ranger Plate is a direct replacement for the factory floorplate on USGI aluminum 30-round magazines, designed for shooters who run aluminum GI mags and want faster, more controlled reloads. The standard aluminum floorplate offers nothing to grip during a magazine change; the Ranger Plate solves that by adding an integral finger loop at the base, giving your support hand a positive purchase when stripping or seating the magazine under stress or while wearing gloves.

The loop is constructed from Santoprene rubber overmolded onto a stainless steel plate. The rubber compliance makes the loop pliable enough to grip cleanly without snagging, while the steel substrate maintains the structural rigidity needed to lock the floorplate in place. A built-in floorplate lock keeps the plate secured during handling and drops, and the design also adds cushioning to protect the magazine body when it hits a hard surface — useful when running prone or clearing a malfunction in the field.

Installation requires no tools and leaves the magazine unmodified, so the plates can be swapped or removed without permanently altering anything. One package includes three plates, enough to outfit three magazines at once. Note that this plate is designed specifically for USGI aluminum magazines and will not fit PMAG-pattern magazines.
