The 158-grain lead round nose is the classic .38 Special training projectile for good reason. The round nose profile feeds reliably in both swing-out cylinder revolvers and the occasional pistol-caliber platform, and the soft lead construction means it stays well under the velocity threshold where leading becomes a serious bore-maintenance concern at typical range sessions. At 755 feet per second, it is a subsonic load, which keeps muzzle blast and felt recoil modest — useful when running drills where follow-up shot placement matters more than terminal performance.

Magtech manufactures its own brass cases, primers, and projectiles under one roof in Brazil, which gives them direct control over component consistency rather than relying on outside suppliers. The brass cases are boxer-primed and fully reloadable, so handloaders can recover and reload them rather than leaving value on the floor. Each cartridge is assembled to consistent dimensional standards suited to both modern revolvers and older fixed-cylinder designs.
